Jason – the Ferris line with the suspension does increase productivity. Think about when you are driving your car. If you took off the suspension do you think you will drive faster over bumps and road variations, or will you slow down more than normal to make sure you dont get bounced through the roof? Not to mention your car coming out in one piece, because suspension takes alot of the force and abuse from the frame and other parts.

I have heard of the Ferris mowers with suspension, but have not done much research on them. This is a very informative post. Question for you Roy or anybody else. Is the production increase as noticeable as stated in this post?

I have been using Ferris mowers for about 15 years, zero turns are the most efficient mowing machines, having the ability to turn around in the tightest of spaces. For the last three years I have been using a Ferris IS5000, the suspension makes the mower considerably smoother, therefore reducing cutting times considerably. If you are not using a zero turn mower or a machine equipped with suspension, I would seriously consider one of these mowers.
